North Bristol NHS Trust launches pregnancy app

North Bristol NHS Trust has launched a new maternity app to help expectant parents access the information they require through their pregnancy journey.

My Pregnancy @ NBT, funded by Southmead Hospital Charity, will replace the existing system of giving patients leaflets, which traditionally totals more than 80,000 a year. The free app allows parents-to-be to make informed decisions about their birthing options with the help of information and virtual tours of wards.

Sonia Barnfield, North Bristol NHS Trust consultant obstetrician, said: “My Pregnancy @ NBT is an excellent resource for expectant parents as it provides useful information from pregnancy through to labour and post-birth. The app allows the most up to date information to be accessible from one central place and has many useful elements such as the search and notes function. As well as empowering parents-to-be to make informed decisions, contact details for our teams are now in one place which makes it easier for them to be located.”
