By offering the patient dignity and privacy our glass allows the hospital staff to safely and efficiently review patient wellbeing at the ‘flick of a switch’. Privacy glass used in medical applications offer a light, robust, easily cleaned surface to replace traditional blind / curtain systems that are known for harbouring dirt and bugs. Our electronic switchable glass can be enhanced with a variety of bespoke innovations from antibacterial coatings to further reduce the effects of cross contamination, x-ray protection and laser screening for medical procedure applications.
The use of privacy glass in Critical, Intensive Care and general ward locations, dental, ophthalmic, private surgeries and sports science applications are benefiting from the integration of electronic glass technologies.
Recent Case Study: Nottingham Teaching Hospital.
The new Teaching Hospital in Nottingham is equipped with a series of switchable Liquid Crystal dividing frames separating each of the teaching classrooms.
Research and development on stem cells will be carried out in this facility commencing next month and therefore total privacy was the main priority. The switchable glass panels are fitted into doors and side panels and operate from a unique controls system based on movement sensors with an integrated control system that automatically tell the glass that privacy is required.
From the initial enquiry Teknoglass Solutions not only manufacture the privacy glass in our new factory, but designed and installed the complete framing system, doors and bespoke controls; all in under three weeks.
