The shortlist for the 2018 Health Business Awards have been announced, recognising NHS trusts and organisations from across the country for their excellence and innovative improvement projects in 22 categories.
2018 marks the 70th anniversary of the NHS. While much remains to be done to ensure it can keep up with changing demands, the Health Business Awards is staged in order to recognise the many examples of innovation and excellence that happen every day.
Among the 22 categories is the Outstanding Achievement in Healthcare Award, won last year by University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust. This year, six NHS organisation’s will be competing to win the award, with the winner announced in the Awards ceremony on 6 December at the Grange Hotel, St Paul’s.
The six NHS organisations are: West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust; Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust; North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust; The Christie NHS Foundation Trust; Somerset Partnership NHS Foundation Trust; and London Ambulance Service.
The other categories will recognise improvements and celebrate innovation in a wide range of areas, including healthcare IT, estates management, patient safety, procurement, recruitment, mental health and clinical commissioning.
