Londoners urged to consider nursing in recruitment drive

The NHS has called on Londoners to consider nursing for a fulfilling and meaningful career.

A recent survey by NHS England, found that 82 per cent of Londoners said nurses have made a positive impact in their life. The survey also found that 46 per cent of Londoners are looking to change career in the next 12 months and 42 per cent of Londoners said that they would consider a career in nursing.

The We Are The NHS recruitment campaign highlights the variety of roles and responsibilities available in nursing.

Jane Clegg, Chief Nurse for the NHS in London, said: “Nursing is a profession that has the capacity to positively affect so many people’s lives.

“I am proud to have had the opportunity to work with so many incredible colleagues since I became a nurse more than 40 years ago. Although typically associated with hospitals and traditional healthcare settings, nursing spans a wide range of specialities, including community, practice, maternity, mental health and social care, so there are plenty of opportunities to broaden your skills and find your passion!
