14-20 October is National Recycle Week. Now, in its 21st year, the event is Recycle Now's annual flagship event.
The theme this year is 'Rescue Me' and focuses on rescuing recyclable items from heading to the rubbish bin.
Trusts across the country are marking the occasion.
The Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust is asking the public to return walking aids they no longer need so that they can be used by others who need them.
Trust’s Acute Therapy Service and Community Rehab Team are asking people to collect unused elbow crutches, walking sticks and walking frames and take them to one of four drop-off locations across the community or to a household waste recycling centre.
Returned items will be checked, cleaned and reused to help new patients struggling with their mobility.
Aside from helping new patients, returning the items will also help to reduced costs incurred from replacing equipment unnecessarily.
