The NHS in London is urging residents to get their COVID-19 spring booster vaccine before 17th June 2025, if they are eligible.

London teams are working to ensure the vaccine is accessible to as many people as possible, as the vaccine provides essential protection against different strains of the COVID-19 virus and, critically, reduces the risk of serious illness and hospitalisation.

The covid spring booster is available at around 800 locations across the UK, with 300,000 appointments available via the national booking service.

Medical director for the NHS in London, Dr Chris Streather, said: “COVID-19 continues to be dangerous for those most at risk, particularly older people and those with weakened immune systems, so we are encouraging all those who are eligible to come forward and get vaccinated as soon as possible.”

“NHS staff will continue to organise visits to care homes for older people and eligible housebound patients, with the latest data showing uptake among older adults in care homes is now at 50 per cent.

“You do not need to wait until you are invited and can visit the NHS website, use the NHS App or call 119 to book an appointment.”
