Junior doctors in Northern Ireland have walked out in a dispute over pay.
The strike will run from 7 am on Thursday 6 June until 7am on Saturday 8 June.
When the ballot for the industrial action was announced, junior doctors in Northern Ireland had not received a pay award for 2023/24. However, the Department of Health has since said that a backdated 2023/24 pay award for junior doctors will be paid this month, with its terms in line with the recommendations of the national pay review body, the DDRB.
The pay award will include an average pay increase on 9.07 per cent for junior doctors.
Patients have been warned to expect disruption with appointments and procedures cancelled.
