MCFT operate in the world of commercial kitchen maintenance, providing our customers with a dependable, transparent, and world-class service, through our diverse team of friendly and dependable engineers based locally, throughout the UK and around the globe.
MCFT started in 1992 in a small, fabrication workshop in Maidenhead and since 2010, the business has been focused on commercial kitchen maintenance. Growing from that small base, since 2015 we expanded to deliver our services in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. We are the only multi-territory business in the industry that now comprises more than 400 colleagues, with nearly 300 technicians. Continuing, at the request of our customers, to open new branches in new countries every year. We have achieved this success thanks to our experience and evaluation of market sectors, the consequent targeting, and, quality-critical, the deliberate alignment of need and supply.
What we do
We offer our customers a best-in-class approach to regular service visits, designed to reduce call-outs, improve efficiency, reliability, and extend assets’ life cycles - something we feel that few others can attest to.
We are unique in the industry in demonstrating an equipment-specific task list based on the international maintenance standard SFG20. Proud of our quality, we excel in providing our customers with the market-leading servicing of their kitchen equipment. We achieve this by investing heavily in the training of our engineers - developing the most comprehensively trained and competent engineers in the industry.
One area we really focus on is staying close to our customers, and understanding their business, priorities, and key metrics. We are an international trusted partner, working with some of the largest and most prestigious companies and venues across the globe, focusing on customers who demand and recognise high performance.
Our People
Everything we do is possible thanks to our people. They are the beating heart of our business. From our office team to our team in the field, our “Product” is our people.
Our industry is faced with recruitment challenges, and a declining and aging workforce. In response to these challenges, we have opened a dedicated in-house training facility in Berkshire, with the goal of re-energising the industry and attracting, nurturing, and developing the next generation of technicians.
We are the only City-&-Guilds Assured, Dept of Education-approved Apprenticeship Employer-Provider in the industry. The technical academy offers an intensive and comprehensive programme, that enables our trainee technicians to understand the demands of the industry and experience immersive real-world situations preparing them for the challenges they will face in the field.
Our bold step forward to pioneer a solution to the problem, allows a new generation of comprehensively trained and competent technicians to enter the industry, enabling MCFT to further reinforce our service-leading offering to our growing global customer base.
Our responsibility
Since our inception we have aimed to “do the right thing”, from supporting local community organisations, regular donations to charities – important to our people, to ensuring we are a responsible business – mindful of our impact on the planet.
As part of our CSR programme, MCFT has set up a carbon offset programme to counterbalance some of the energy used in running the business. Our engineers are out on the road on a daily basis and we strive to compensate for their CO2 emissions as much as possible. MCFT donations have enabled the establishment and management of 20.76 acres of Forest, which equates to 18,661 trees, making the company fully carbon-neutral.
As a food service equipment business, we often come across second-hand equipment that’s too good to scrap, we’re passionate about finding the kit a new home and extending its life. So, we set up our pre-loved equipment programme, in which we look for local good causes that could do with a helping hand, supporting and making a real difference to community-led projects, repurposing, and recycling, we're not just saving resources but also supporting local community causes, providing them with equipment that could cost them thousands.
MCFT’s commitment to our values; People, Passion and Purpose are engrained throughout our business. From our dedication to training and development, our standard setting approach to maintenance and our drive to adhere to Sustainable Development Goals. As the business continues to grow, we will continue to hold to our values, ensuring our industry leading, dependable, trusted, local approach remains consistent.
