In many ways, Autronica is a Norwegian industrial adventure. It was in 1957 that four ambitious technologists, a radio repairman, a low current engineer and two radar technicians joined forces to establish the company: Autronica Fire and Security. The idea was simple, they wanted to offer smart technology and a wide product range.
From the office in Trondheim, Norway, where we are still based out of, they developed photocell switches, fire detection, power supply and temperature monitoring – and not least: the very first fire alarm as you know it today. Thanks to this invention, both people and assets are secured worldwide, every single day.
Now, more than 60 years after the adventure began – Autronica is a leading innovator, manufacturer and supplier of fire and gas detection systems, with offices worldwide.

This means that we work continuously to develop the market's safest and most reliable technology for fire and gas detection, while at the same time meeting the constantly changing requirements within the fire and security industry.
Autronica specializes in offering fire and gas solutions for diverse environments, which impose varying demands. The task of fireproofing large and intricate establishments such as hospitals, hotels, or cruise ships differs from that of securing a residential complex. Autronica along with its large channel partner network manages the complete process, starting from conceptualization and design, and concluding with a fully installed solution that is precisely tailored to each customer's needs.
Innovative learning tools
A central value for Autronica is to be a safe, competent, and a committed partner to our customers. As part of this in 2022 we introduced the "AutroWorld" portal— a feature on our website designed to offer customers a chance to acquaint themselves with Autronica's products and applications through an immersive 3D model.
Within the AutroWorld portal, users are transported into a 3D representation of a coastal city featuring hotels, hospitals, cruise ships, wind farms, data centers, and more. By selecting a particular application, like "Hospital," users can enter the building and explore the various kinds of rooms within a hospital setting—such as the lobby, laboratories, operating rooms, and patient rooms. Further interaction allows users to delve deeper, such as clicking into the foyer, where they can view a depiction of the room outfitted with Autronica products.
AutroGuard – a new generation of fire detection technology
The AutroGuard® multicriteria protector introduces a cutting-edge technology that simplifies installation and enhances fire safety. Going beyond traditional detectors, this device acts as a comprehensive protector by detecting fires and issuing warnings, all within a single unit.
This innovative solution incorporates advanced sensor dynamics that significantly improve detection accuracy, reducing response times for real fires while minimizing false alarms. The technology is adaptable, allowing configuration for Heat, Optical, or Multisensor operation, with an optional integration of sounders and/or integrated Visual Alarm Device, catering to a wide range of applications.
With multiple fire safety features integrated into one device, the AutroGuard® protector offers cost-saving benefits through reduced wiring and installation expenses, all while maintaining an aesthetically clean appearance.
The Self Verify® technology ensures the protector's reliability throughout its entire lifespan by conducting automatic self-tests assessing signal pathways to the system panel, alarm devices, and output units.
AutroGuard® utilizes DYFI3D technology; MultiAngle/MultiWavelength detection with advanced algorithms analyze the unique signatures for each type of fire and nuisance source in a 3D space, enabling the protector to accurately distinguish between real fires and false alarm sources.
